One of my favourite recordings. Close your eyes, stay with the singer, and follow every nuance of his voice as his melisma billows, flaps and flutters like a banner in the cold morning winds of Almería.

Arcángel's voice is stunningly beautiful. His interpretations of deep song (cante jondo) are almost liturgical. He is renowned for his mastery the many Fandango forms.

Taranta, and its strict rhythm form, Taranto, are songs of the East (cantes de levante). Typically pensive, lonely. There are many forms, including Mineras and Cartageneras. I'd love to know your thoughts - please share in the comment box below...
