CLASS MATERIAL

In my classes I teach the core methods of traditional, pure Flamenco; I also search for the emotional drive that inspires you to choose this dance style.  After all, flamenco isn't a cool collection of movements and tricks, but a profound form of human communication.

What do classes typically entail?

Core work includes the technique of footwork rhythm (zapateado), arms and hands (braceo), torso alignment, rhythm & compás, and choreography, all unified with expression.

Other elements include castanets, theory, general knowledge, music appreciation, jaleo, palmas, mantón, bastónbata de cola, stage craft, and occasionally some Flamenco group singing.

Live guitar accompaniment is also part of certain classes.
